A couple of weeks ago, I got a sample of 40 Knots by Xerjoff - and absolutely loved it! I knew I had been saving my FragranceNet rewards points for something... Well, this package was waiting for me after returning home, and - my goodness - the packaging is absurd! So, does Xerjoff have the most pretentious fragrance packaging or is someone else more over-the-top than this?

This is an alternative to Stéphane Humbert Lucas Sand Dance. (I haven’t tried it.). Vulcan Sable opens slightly citrusy, boozy, woody, and spicy, where the sesame spice is prominent along with the coriander woody nuance. It transitions pushing out the cocoa and anise accords forward, smoothing out the blend while keeping its subtle booziness. As it dries down turns to a sweet, spicier, woodier, and balsamic aroma. This dry down does remind me a bit the Bentley for Men Intense DNA. This is an uncommon and acquired taste aroma that might suit the more trained noses. It’s multifaceted, very singular, not a mass pleasing fragrance. The dry down is the more pleasant facet of this scent for everyone to enjoy. The first sniffs will not really reveal all this juice has to offer. Although its singularity, it offers a subtle experience that shouldn’t offend anyone. It’s ideal for cooler weather, any occasion, with great projection and longevity.
