Brothers, here are a few standout posts from the BOS community this week. Shoutout to @Renato Carotti for sparking a major conversation around his order update from The Parfums. Which Fragrance Influencers Do You Believe Have Sold Out? And Which ones Have Not ?
As many of us here in the Beginning stages of the fragrance community and our hobby, we followed lots of fragrance influencers. I want opinions on who you feel sold out? And who you feel stayed the course or is honest. Debate is welcome; all opinions matter. If you cant take it or get hurt feelings, please dont participate. I would also love to see Examples of why you believe either way. Let the Challenge begin!!! I’m not saying every big fragrance influencer is dishonest, but I’m cautious with the ones who constantly push top-10 hype lists, affiliate links, discount codes, sponsored bottles, and ā€œbeast mode compliment getterā€ content. Once every new fragrance sounds amazing and there’s always a code attached, it starts feeling more like sales than honest reviewing.
SOTD: Lalique Encre Noire A L'Extreme
This isn't the season for it, but I got a new sample and wanted to sample it today. Encre Noire ƀ L’ExtrĆŖme takes the original Encre Noire DNA and turns it darker, richer, and more intense. Released in 2015 and created by Nathalie Lorson, it opens with cypress, bergamot, and elemi before moving into a smoky vetiver heart wrapped with incense. The drydown brings in sandalwood, patchouli, and benzoin for a warm, resinous finish. This is one of those fragrances that feels moody. Earthy, woody, smoky, slightly inky — but smoother and more wearable than the original Encre Noire. The incense and resins round off some of the sharp edges without losing that dark forest atmosphere the line is known for. Best suited for fall and winter, evenings, rainy days, or anytime you want something introspective and masculine without smelling like everyone else. Definitely not a loud compliment-chaser, but if you enjoy vetiver-heavy fragrances with a darker personality, this one is excellent for the price. (Just $30 for 100ml at Maxaroma)
