Premium Store Brands
Ever so often a premium store brand will score big in the fragrance department.
For example, Sorbino (a premium Italian retail men’s brand) has a winning record with their fragrances, in my opinion at least. The only down side is that they rarely stay in production beyond one year. Two years maximum.
They have had 2 fragrances come and go that I absolutely loved. Both were very unique and quite dis-similar from each other.
Recently I came across a store brand that was new to me. Gutteridge. An Italian company with Scottish Roots and a robust history dating back to 1878.
They offer a cologne line with three fragrances to choose from. My favorite of the three is simply called Gutteridge Green - due to the packaging. Which is quite stylish and attractive.
Gutteridge Green is a fragrance built around the precious notes of Bourbon Vanilla, Oud and Benzoin, revealing a strong, balsamic character. Hints of amber and woods provide depth and warmth. The result is a fragrance that is opulent, complex and rich in contrasts. Made in Italy and retails at an average of 60€ for 100ml.
A scent worth every Euro cent.
