I want to use this Behind the Scenes Sunday to talk about something I am really excited about right now.
That is the 1-on-1 coaching.
We are now in week 2 of testing it, and the goal is simple:
To make this one of the best online coaching experiences possible.
Not just another online program.
Not just another plan someone sends you and disappears.
Something that actually helps people get results. 💪
👀 What we are testing right now
Right now, a few people are doing the 1-on-1 coaching for free as part of the testing phase.
The goal this month is not to rush it.
The goal is to make sure it actually works well.
That means testing things like:
• Communication
• Video feedback
• Training app setup
• Program building
• Accountability
• Follow-up systems
• How personalized it really feels
I want this to feel better, more helpful, and more honest than what a lot of people expect from online coaching.
Because honestly… online coaching has earned some distrust.
And in many cases, that distrust makes sense.
🤔 Why I care so much about doing this right
A lot of online coaching out there is expensive, vague, and low effort.
You pay a huge amount.
Then you get:
• A plan
• A check-in every week or two
• Minimal feedback
• Very little personalization
That is not what I want to build here.
I have coached athletes in person for years through:
• Ninja Warrior
• Gymnastics
• Parkour
And one of the biggest things I have learned is this:
Just because someone is a great athlete does not mean they are a great coach.
That is a big trap online.
So if I am going to build coaching here, I want to build it around:
• Clarity
• Personalization
• Support
• Real feedback
• Real implementation
Information should be easy to access.
Implementation is where coaching matters.
✅ What I personally loved most from great coaching
When I think back to the best coaching experiences I had, one thing stands out:
Homework outside of sessions.
Not random busy work.
Not just more volume for the sake of it.
But things that helped me improve between sessions.
That could be:
• Strength work outside practice
• Specific drills
• Videos to study
• Technique things to focus on
• Culture or mindset material to understand the discipline better
That is something I really want this coaching to have.
Not just “here is your plan.”
But also:
“Here is what to focus on next, here is why it matters, and here is how to actually improve.”
📱 The tools that are already part of this
One thing I really like about what we are building is that the coaching does not just rely on talking.
It also includes useful tools.
Right now that includes:
• A training app
• Workout tracking
• Exercise tutorials
• Personalized workout plans
• Ongoing communication
• Skill reviews and video breakdowns
The goal is to make sure the tools actually make coaching better, not just more complicated.
🌳 The skill tree app update
I also want to mention the Skill Tree App.
It is still not live yet, which I know is frustrating.
I finally got in contact with support, so that is progress. 🙏
The goal is still to get it working as soon as possible, because I really believe it can be one of the coolest tools here.
The idea is simple:
A full skill progression system that shows:
• What to work on
• What unlocks what
• Which skills connect together
• What progressions lead to bigger goals
That is especially useful in calisthenics because there are so many skills, so many steps, and so many places where people get stuck.
When it is back up, everyone in the current 1-on-1 test group will get access to it first to play around with it and help test it.
💡 One idea I really like for coaching
One thing I am strongly considering is making the 1-on-1 coaching easier to try before someone fully commits.
The idea would be something like this:
Instead of a huge upfront coaching cost, you could do a low-cost trial period first.
Something like:
• A 2-week setup phase
• Personalized plan creation
• App setup
• Communication and support
• Video feedback
• Real coaching experience from the start
Then after that, you can decide if you want to continue.
I like this idea because I personally love being able to try something before fully committing.
That feels better.
It feels more honest.
And it helps people actually see the value instead of just hoping it is there.
📦 What I am trying to figure out
There are really 3 big questions I am thinking through right now:
1. What makes online coaching feel truly worth it?
Not just “good enough.”
Actually worth paying for.
2. What should be included at each level?
What makes sense for:
• Free community
• $9/month level
• 1-on-1 coaching
3. How do we make it ethical and useful?
I want it to be fair.
I want it to help people.
I want it to feel like something I would have wanted myself.
🙋 I would really love your feedback
I would love your thoughts on these 3 questions:
1. What is one of the best features you have ever seen from a coach?
This can be:
• In person
• Online
• Fitness
• Sports
• Anything where someone helped you improve
2. What would make you say YES to a 1-on-1 coaching program?
What would you need to see, feel, or receive for it to feel like a no-brainer?
3. If you have not upgraded to the $9/month level, why not?
This is not pressure.
I genuinely want to know.
It helps me understand:
• What feels missing
• What is unclear
• What people want more of
• What would make it more useful
That feedback helps me make the whole community better, including the free side. 🙌
💬 Final thought
Everything I am building here is based on a simple idea:
I want this to be the kind of coaching and community I would have wanted.
Not hype.
Not pressure.
Not hiding good help behind confusion.
Just real support, useful tools, good coaching, and a clear path forward.
So if you have thoughts on any of this, drop them below.
Your feedback really does help shape what gets built next. 🔥
And if you ever want personalized clarity on your own training, you can book a free call here. This is not a sales call:
👇 Questions for you:
• What is the best coaching feature you have ever experienced?
• What would make 1-on-1 coaching feel worth it to you?
• If you have not looked at the $9/month level, what is stopping you?
Stay awesome 😎
