I want to share with everyone something I do when worrying about things. It literally has kept me from living in a constant state of panic attack.
I have a small wooden box & when I start to worry about something I write it down on a piece of paper, fold it & drop it in the box. I do this Sunday thru Friday. Write it down & keep going without thinking about that issue again knowing that i'll come back to it on Saturday. Saturdays is when I take the pieces out & read them. If it's still something to worry about I make a Pros/Cons list to try to come up with solution. Usually 70-80% of the time I end up laughing thinking, "Why in the world was I worried about that?"
Not to say that a "Worry Box" would work for everyone, but I hope this idea helps at least 1 person that reads about it here. I hesitated to post this but my report said that it was "a brilliant tool for cognitive behavior therapy." So I just had to share my tool with everyone. I hope someone finds it useful.
