About Breathwork
I appreciated reading the various responses/reactions that many have posted both before and after our breathwork session.
I'm not sure how widely known breathwork has become internationally. In the US it is definitely getting a lot of attention...not unlike cold plunges, red light therapy, stem cells, mindfulness/meditation....etc etc. In essence...The evolution of these very different modalities is all focused on nervous system regulation. We are all living in incredibly challenging times and many individuals are living life in various states of "dysregulation". This leads to all kinds of physical, emotional, interpersonal and spiritual struggles.
I was first introduced to breathwork a few years ago and I have studied it quite a bit....While there has not been much research published yet, it is definitely becoming viewed as a very beneficial self care activity. There are many types and styles of breathwork....They all have some value depending on one's goals or intention(s) for using it.
Examples: athletic performance, increasing endurance, stabilizing anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, increasing self awareness, working through the imprints of trauma in the body and more.
It can take repeated sessions to achieve whatever benefit or outcome someone is seeking...Every breathwork session can be experienced differently...even with the same style of breathing and/or the same breathwork practitioner or coach...
Including this opportunity in our 6 week program was really special...Obviously Jim has been practicing breathwork for some time. He has
discovered it's value. I trust that further exploration of this experience will occur in our group or within the community...Hopefully, for those who discovered some benefits and also for those who are determining whether or not this modality may be useful or helpful. Like anything, it is not for everyone.
I have settled on a certain breathwork style called SOMA IQ....meaning..the Intelligence of the body.
This organization is on the Skool platform as well.
It is possible to join that community and learn more...They offer free webinars, podcasts, and even breathwork sessions for the public...
I'll share a link for anyone who is interested enough to learn more, experience more or to hear from that community about breathwork in general. They do a free 3 day webinar several times a year for those who want to go deeper into what SOMA IQ is about.
I am more than happy to share more about what I've learned, answer questions or let others know about a few daily practices...7 to 10 minutes long...that I have added to my morning and sometimes my evening/bedtime routines.
I started my Somatic Breathwork Practioner Training in January...I've struggled with keeping up with our ADHD Harmony program...It been a challenge to encounter two incredible programs at the same time but I couldn't pass up either one.
It's been fun to recognize that Jim is continuously adding to the incredible ADHD Harmony platform on a regular basis. So many of you have tech skills and experiences that are incredible intimidating to me. The input so many are contributing has been invaluable for me. Many of you have quickly become integral parts of this program through your feedback to Jim, creative problem solving skills and generous contributions to the community.
If anyone wants to CK out SOMA IQ....this is the link that will take you there:
When the credits roll at the end of a movie...
We will recognize many names of our ADHD Harmony Cohort 2 group members...You are all such special, kind and warm hearted souls....I feel so much gratitude for each of you ...for Jim....for his incredible program and this rapidly growing community!! I hope to be a contributor...but my areas of experience, expertise and/or knowledge is just different. 🌬️🌬️🌬️🕊️🕊️🕊️🫶🫶🫶⭐⭐⭐
