Mind Games Double Attack (1/3)
It opens with bitter orange peel, pimento, pepper, and dark chocolate for me. There’s also a green note in the mix, which I suspect comes from the agave and honestly, I’m not sure, but it smells a bit like lemongrass to me. After about 30 minutes, the orange mostly fades, leaving pimento, pepper, cinnamon, and dark chocolate. It reminded me of Terry’s (dark) chocolate resting on fresh grass. For the Americans, it’s an orange shaped and flavoured chocolate that you must try someday. Once it dries down further, it almost smells like champurrado which is a Mexican chocolate drink. When fully dry, all that’s left is just a faint hint of chocolate, bit of geranium and vetiver. Overall, it’s a softer gourmand that’s creative and unique enough to work. The quality of the ingredients is excellent, as you’d expect from Mind Games. However, the performance is quite disappointing. After 4 hrs, I’m left with virtually nothing. It started off soft, so I hoped it would develop more, but it stayed that way for the first 2 hrs before fading into a skin scent. I did notice many reviews on Fragrantica mention that the longevity is very polarising depending on skin type and looks like I drew the short straw. With that in mind, I’d rate the scent itself an 8.3/10, but the performance and price only a 4/10, giving an overall score of 6.2/10. Mind Games is a brand I had high hopes for, but I guess every basket has its bad apples. I’m willing to give it another chance some other time but im not gonna be too hopeful. What do think of this fragrance? Have you tried it before?
