Live in the Moment… and Pause to Review the Past
I love the simple insights and reminders I gain when I coach my club members. Today’s session was a good reminder (and practice) that before we design the future, we need to pause and look back. Three things that stood out: 1. Looking back gives insights. We (okay, let's me honest, I) often rush into planning what’s next without taking time to notice what actually worked, what shifted us, and what my body has already learned. Reflection is how we integrate wisdom and lessons learned. 2. Honesty isn't easy, but reveals more. Noticing what drained us, what felt harder than it should have, and where we settled isn’t about judgement. It’s about telling ourselves the truth so something new can emerge. 3. Long-term rhythm REALLY matters. Real change rarely happens in short bursts. When things get uncomfortable, it’s easy to give up. Having a longer-term container, practice, or vision supports us through the messy middle (and why I really love the club model. A member who has nearly reached her 1 year anniversary shared how grateful she was for the journey and what "sticking with it" for the year enabled her to see) this is where most transformation actually happens. My take-into 2026: Growth isn't about doing more, it's about listening more deeply and committing longterm to that desire/ goal.
