A simple exercise to go into the new year with more clarity
The days between Christmas and New Years is one of my favorite time of year. Not quite rest. Not quite work. Not quite ready to sprint into the new year but enjoying the space to look ahead It’s the perfect space to pause, reflect, and look ahead. I wanted to share one of my favorite end-of-year exercises. It’s simple, grounding, and helps create clarity before stepping into the new year. It isn’t about mapping the whole year, but instead about creating enough clarity to move forward with focus and calm. Try this quick exercise: Grab a notebook or journal and walk through these three prompts... 1️⃣ What’s complete Closure creates calm and reflecting on what you actually accomplished can be so motivating. So lets look at what we finished this year. What wrapped up this year What no longer needs your attention What you can mentally close the loop on 2️⃣ What’s carrying over Too often I see people so excited to jump into the new goals and ideas that they forget to account for the things they are still wrapping up, so take note of what you need to carry into the new year... - Loose ends - Ideas still in progress - Things you’re bringing with you into the new year 3️⃣ What deserves your attention next From everything on your mind, choose 1–2 priorities that would make things feel lighter if you focused on them first. These aren’t high pressure goals but instead anchoring goals - Small. Supportive. Grounding. That’s it. If this kind of reflection and gentle structure is helpful, I share more like this inside my free Skool community for solopreneurs who want clarity, simple systems, and a calmer way to run their business. You’re welcome to join us here. I'd love to know... What’s one priority you’re choosing to carry into the new year?
