The Aluminum Additive Hiding in Your Food (and Why It Matters) Most people think of aluminum as something in foil, cookware, or deodorant. Very few realize it is intentionally added to food. One of the most common forms is called- Sodium aluminum phosphate It is used in processed foods as- - A stabilizer - A thickener - A leavening aid (especially in baking powders and frozen baked goods) - An emulsifier to improve texture and shelf stability And it is quietly contributing to a massive, chronic aluminum exposure in the modern diet. What is sodium aluminum phosphate? Sodium aluminum phosphate is a synthetic aluminum salt added to foods to improve texture, volume, shelf life, and consistency. It is especially common in- - Pancake and waffle mixes - Baking powders - Biscuits, muffins, cakes - Frozen pizzas and frozen baked goods - Non-dairy creamers - Processed breakfast foods - Packaged snack foods It often appears on labels as- - Sodium aluminum phosphate - Acidic sodium aluminum phosphate - SALP How much is considered โ€œsafeโ€? The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) set a maximum permissible level (MPL) of - 400 mg per kilogram (mg/kg) of food That sounds high until researchers actually measured how much is present in real foods. A 2005 analysis of selected foods found sodium aluminum phosphate levels ranging from - 1 mg/kg up to 27,000 mg/kg Yes that is almost 70 times higher than the permitted level. And this is just one aluminum source. Aluminum is also consumed through - Cookware - Foil - Drinking water - Antacids - Deodorants - Certain medications and vaccines Aluminum bioaccumulates. The body does not clear it efficiently. So daily small exposures turn into long-term tissue buildup. Where aluminum goes in the body Once absorbed, aluminum enters systemic circulation and distributes to- - Brain and nervous system - Bones and skeletal tissue - Bone marrow and blood cells - Reproductive organs - Liver and kidneys

Ae You Chewing Gum.... or Plastic - Part 2
Most gum today is basically plastic you chew.If the label says โ€œgum baseโ€, that usually means polyvinyl acetate, polyethylene, or synthetic rubber, the same materials used in tires, glue, and plastic bags. But good news: there are clean, plastic-free, chicle-based options. Here's your no-fluff guide to the best right now. These gums use natural chicle or plant resins and no synthetic plastics. 1. Refresh (Top Pick Overall) Base- Chicle (plastic-free) Sweetener- Xylitol & stevia - Cleanest formula, no microplastics - Smooth, long-lasting chew for natural gum - Natural colors & flavor that actually lasts - Slight earthy taste at the start - Not as intense as mainstream gum 2. Cerez Pazari Mastic (Most Natural) Base- Pure mastic resin - 100% natural resin from Greek trees - Piney, herbal flavor - Starts very firm - Unique flavor not for everyone 3. Chicza (Best Organic) Base- Organic chicle - Fully biodegradable & compostable - Earthy, herbal flavors - Traditional Mayan harvesting - Flavor fades fast - Starts sticky; texture takes getting used to 4. Simply Gum Base- Chicle Sweetener- Organic cane sugar (no xylitol) : - Very clean ingredients - Wide flavor variety - Great for those avoiding sugar alcohols - Very mild flavor that fades quickly - Soft chew, not like mainstream gum 5. Chewsy Base- Chicle - Organic, plastic-free, aspartame-free - Classic flavors & lemon - Flavor fades fast - Can get sticky and cling to teeth 6. Milliways Base- Natural plant-based ingredients - Stronger flavor than most natural gums - Smooth texture, doesnโ€™t crumble - Plastic-free packaging - Flavor lasts only about 5 minutes - Pricier 7. Georganics Base- Chicle & Arabic gum - Zero-waste glass jar - Strong initial peppermint flavor - Flavor disappears quickly - Gets sticky with long chewing 8. Glee Gum Base- Chicle - Biodegradable, long-standing clean brand - Lots of great, nostalgic flavors - Softens and breaks down fast - Can be sticky & not good for dental work

Observing & Removing Anxiety
Notice Your Anxiety - Anxiety comes from thoughts, not from real danger. - These thoughts are future-based (โ€œwhat if this happens?โ€). - You give attention to those thoughts, which then create the anxious feeling. Tip - You are not anxious because of real danger-you are anxious because of the thoughts you are choosing to focus on. Let's take a look at a Variety of Tools we can have FUN with when this occurs or you feel Anxiety sneaking up. 20-Second Morning Calm Script Right now, I am safe. My thoughts are just thoughts. I let go of what I canโ€™t control, I focus on what I can do today. I choose calm. I choose strength. I bounce back. I am becoming the best version of me. Today, I choose me. WALLPAPER VERSION for your Phone? - I am safe. - I let go. - I choose calm. 3-Second Emergency Calm - Iโ€™m safe. - Iโ€™m here. - I breathe. 10-Second Bedtime Calm - My day is over. - I did enough. - I am safe to rest now. - I let everything go. - I choose peace. - I choose sleep. Be sure to breathe slowly and once on each statement, hold it for 1000,2000 ,then slowly release it. Or try the Breath in - hold - Breathe out for a count of 4-7-8 Which one will You try right now? Peanut Butterโ€“Anxiety Connection (and What to Eat Instead) Pt. 2
Cellular Level: What Happens Inside the Cells Healthy brain and gut cells need stable mitochondrial energy (ATP). Peanut butters made with industrial oils (like hydrogenated soybean or cottonseed oil) are high in omega-6 linoleic acid (LA), which - - Disrupts mitochondrial membranes and electron flow. - Increases oxidative stress (more free radicals, less energy). - Impairs fatty acid oxidation, lowering the cellโ€™s energy output. - This mean your cells literally have less energy. Almost all diseases can be directly connected to poor mitochondrial function, including cancers. For someone with anxiety or depression, this means- - Less ATP leading to slower brain metabolism - More oxidative stress leading to cellular inflammation - Reduced neurotransmitter balance leading to higher risk of anxiety, irritability, and mood dips Inflammation & Neurotransmitter Imbalance Chronic gut and cell inflammation increase the enzyme IDO (indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase), which diverts tryptophan away from serotonin production and toward kynurenine, a neurotoxic compound. That Simply means- - Less serotonin leading to more anxiety and low mood - More kynurenine leading to more brain inflammation and โ€œbrain fogโ€. - We'll talk more about this in Part 3 So even a small daily serving of processed peanut butter could worsen mood symptoms over time if it increases inflammation or gut irritation. A Better Alternative Just choose- - 100% nuts only (no added oils or sugar) - Stored in glass, not plastic (to avoid BPA/BPS exposure) - Refrigerated after opening (to prevent rancidity and mold) - add your own sea salt if desired. Better nut butters, Almond, Cashew, Pistachio, Macadamia - Raw almond butter (lower omega-6 load) - Macadamia or cashew butter (more monounsaturated fats, gentle on gut) - Coconut butter (mood-stabilizing fats like lauric acid) What's your favorite nut butter or substitute?
