Suit Fitment
I got this 3 piece suit from Joseph A Bank, ordered it a month ago, went and got it altered there and my one concern was the shoulder fitment. The gentleman helping me said that steaming it would help and it would settle. So I paid for the suit, waited for the jacket in the size he said I needed to come in, then I went back to get it fitted for alterations. I paid a little under $400 for the suit and then $112 for the alterations. I took it home, steamed the shoulders and as I guessed that did not fix the issue. The shoulders extend past my natural shoulders which causes it to crease like shown in the images. I am now taking it back tomorrow for them to look and see what can be done. What should I expect going in? I need the suit for a wedding for next weekend. Again I went in there with plenty of time to get it done and now it’s crunch time due to this issue.

@Scott Eisenacher absolutely agree with this advice. He trusted the expertise of the in house tailor which turned out to be poor advice. The manager should be able to help address both issues
Dress code
Just read an article about a new restaurant in Oakland that's stirring up controversy ... for having a dress code. According to the article, it sounds like the bar is still pretty low on the dress code, and it's only enforced at night. Still, the owners have gotten a lot of pushback on it. "When you go out and you dress with intention, your behavior is different," the owner said.

Dress codes used to be common, especially in high-end establishments. And even when there wasn’t a dress code ‘common sense’ was the rule and most folks didn’t dress in the lowest common denominator when entering an establishment. I think that level of respect has disappeared, and maybe we should have more places require a dress code. I’m all for it.

French cuff shirts in non-business attire?
I've got 20 or so shirts that I used to wear to work. The shirts have french cuffs on them designed for cuff links. Now that I'm retired, I'm wondering if I can wear these shirts in a non-business setting without looking silly. Not quite casually, but not business either. It's clear that I could still use them in business settings, I just don't have that many to go to now. So the answer will help me determine whether to donate them or keep them. Thoughts?

Great outfit! It all works well together. Love the earth-tone color palette and the layers.
