Once in a career
There are parts of my job that can become routine—but every now and then, you get an experience that reminds you why you signed up in the first place. Last week, I had the opportunity to work a protection detail for the Secretary of the Navy. As a former Marine, that carried a little extra meaning for me, given the Corps falls under the Department of the Navy. It was one of those rare, full-circle moments—and likely a once-in-a-career experience. To top it off, one of the Troopers in the motorcade told me I had the best-looking suit in the group. I’ll take that as a win. Grateful for the opportunity, the people I got to work alongside, and the reminder that even in a routine job, there are still moments that stand out.

O’sOTE - Saturday 21 March
We headed out to out Jazz Evening and also had dinner. Was a very nice night. Nicole wore a Dreess I got her for Christmas and I went with the outfit I showed last night but didn’t wear the hat at Nicoles request. We sat next to another couple at the concert and they mentioned that it was nice to see people dressed well to go out, then as we were leaving a pair of younger males said that “we made them feel underdressed”. Nicole took this as a snide remark, but I just replied with a ‘Thankyou kindly fellas” and just kept walking. I did get a snippet of one of the Louis Armstrong songs and one from Frank Sinatra. The music was amazing, the singing did get better as the evening progressed, mind you when you are competing with what people think about when those to Jazz legends are mentioned you are really up against it. On a plus, Nicole did ask if I know what else was played there, I showed her the app and she was all excited about being to go out and dress up. Hope you all have an amazing Saturday, I am about to go to bed 🥱

Now that sounds like almost a perfect evening. And, if you can get those around you to up their game, you can remove the almost. Looking forward to seeing what y'all do next there.
