Summer warmth in Finland and I’m wearing a casual OOTD 1 June to the mall to buy some champagne to celebrate the world championship ice hockey gold medal to Finland. The ice hockey team was escorted home by our army Hornet jets and today on the flight the FINNAIR staff OOTD was the official ice hockey T-shirt. From the airport the team was invited directly to the home of Alexander Stubb the president of Finland to celebrate the gold medal. I buy only high quality garments many classic and timeless and I enjoy dressing up like that. When it comes to buying clothes my attitude is largely the issue . I refuses to pay high prices for my garments but at the same time I buy only high quality garments mostly classic and timeless. So I buy 99% of my garments secondhand, otherwise I could not afford to buy the high quality items I am looking for. Then when I find something i really like and ”need” I buy it because it is so affordable. I’m 70+ old and have now bought for many many decades so I do not need any more garments. Currently, I find pleasure in donating my clothes to friends who have found an interest in dressing in a classic and timeless way. Like at last Easter when I had the great pleasure of handing out three good quality summer blazers made of a linen-wool-silk blend to the young people. Let the joy and pleasure of dressing up pass on to new generations. SURPRISE !! My wife Marianne gave me this present a week ago. A framed bow tie, the bow tie I wore about 70 years ago when I was one year old. My framed bow tie is an example of how we as parents can have a great influence on how our children act on different levels as they get older and even throughout their lives. I’m 70+ and today I’m still dressing up and wear a bow tie or a tie in so many situations.

I’ve spoken many many times about the three conservative foundational menswear shirt colors in American Classic Timeless Menswear: Blue White and Pink. For at least 70 plus years these have been the primary colors for men’s shirts. The reason is simple. These three color of shirts are virtually interchangable in tie and suit /sportcoat options thus they “conserve” one funds thus they are “conservative” Many guys get pink confused with other colors like lavender, ecru, or yellow. While those last three certainly can be used very adroitly in many ensembles and can look outstanding (especially lavender) as a bold break from convention, they are not nearly as primary as pink. I look at pink as blue’s and white’s slightly more dynamic cousin. Some guys still harbor some rather childish “little boys wear blue little girls wear pink” sentiments but to me that sounds like the same guys who can’t understand why you would wear a sportcoat and slacks out instead of jeans, graphic hoodies, and baseball caps. If one wants to wear jeans and a hoodie and a baseball cap out on the town-who cares -nbd. Yet if that person wants to condescend to one wearing a sport coat and slacks-which of these two are being childish?
