Great to have you here! What are your biggest challenges, and what are your primary goals in training?
First day here
Hi everyone, my first day here. Found Andre through socials. I'm in my 40s now, and hope to take my kicks to new levels, literally. I have 10 year TKD background and was decent when I was younger, but have never been able to kick beyond my head height, have always wanted to kick split like Van Damme. I've tried many things over the years, PNFs, static and dynamic stretching, even bought stretch machines. But I've never been able to get past certain sticking points. I recently found some new exercises like kick-stand squats, and nerve flossing that immediately improved my kicking height, but hit a wall again. Also, these days I get pain in my hips when i try to throw a quick snapping round house kick (slow gradual decline due to lessening practice over the years). I am ok when I chamber the leg for a side kick though and can hold the kick pretty high now, but still feel a lot of tightness in my hamstrings that prevent me from kicking higher. Also, my dynamic kicks (especially when I have a bag to hig) are way higher than my static holds. Anyway, looking forward to learning and growing with you all!

Learn the first set of principles and processes 2) Begin Good Guys Build Backs (GGBB) start with #GGBB Session #1 10/9/2025 and repeat it 2-3x during a seven day period. 3) If you have shoulder issues, also start with #HYS: #1, which can be done with 2) without conflict, 2-3x during the same seven day period. 4) GGBB pairs exceptionally well with Hips of Fury. Begin #HOF One 9/19/2025 This is more intense work that begins strengthening your hips at length all the way around the sockets, and makes ALL of the straddle work more accessible. Same deal with 2-3x/week. 5) Enter the Straddle is perfect if you can sit in s straddle position with a 90 ° spread, and have the ability to lean forward and put your hands on the floor unassisted. #ETS Session One 9/1/2025 is the beginning of lifetime changes. Numbers 4) and 2) are exceptional to make this whole series far superior. Repeat all training choices twice weekly at a minimum. You will gain wisdom with the training that you repeat, and repeating it will give you more time to properly adapt. Expect to see noticeable positive changes after a couple of weeks of consistent work. Post your questions, observations, breakthroughs, and aha moments here, and let the community embrace your needs and successes.

@Eric Carrero level 2 is a trinity of sorts. 1) #GGBB Session #1 10/9/2025 2) #HOF Long Lunge One And either 3) #ETS Session One 9/1/2025 OR #Pike One The first two prep your SI joint, lower back, in circumference of your hips to gain better access to your hamstrings and adductors. If a straddle is already accessible to you, Enter the Straddle yes challenging choice with progressions. It is longer in duration than other training sessions. Else, Puke’s Peak his exceptional for hamstrings and glutes without needing access to a straddle. Hips of Fury will help you get into your first straddle if it isn’t currently accessible, or make it dramatically better in preparation for the straddle that you can already do. Pike’ s Peak is also a Progressive series, and a fantastic compliment to all things straddle related.

@Frank Kolodziejczyk that’s great! You should post some before and after videos of you kicking and articulating the things that you notice are changing.
NEW Hips of Fury: HOF Long Lunge Nine is up❗️
#HOF Long Lunge Nine is 10 minutes of intense goodness. As we progress, remember the following: 1) Order has already been established for several reasons. Tissue tolerances are adaptive changes, and all physiological changes take time. 2) You will gain more by repeating each training session 2-3x at over a 7-10 day period, rather than skipping to the next session. Progressions are most meaningful with gained experience in the movements, and advances from repeating them before adding others. 3) Patience and discipline will always beat rushing and inconsistency. There is so much to be gained, and I want each of you to obtain all of it. 4) Enjoy, and Flex Hard!

@Laura Segal I’m not sure if that’s a little crying, or speculative sweating. 🧐😆
