How to overcome social insecurity?
I normaly go to a box workout with my work bestie. This week she is sick and normally I would skip it. It's not easy for me with people I don't know especially with something like boxing. I also have some partly hearing lose which somethime leads to rater funny situations as I don't wear my hearing aid while doing sport. I'm trying to hype myself up to still go. Anyone also is super shy with unknown people at workout classes?

Oh yes, the social anxiety was me. I'm doing better now, thus how I made friends with the people at my circuit training. I like to assume the best of people and then go from there. For boxing, it'd be good to let the people know what level of accomodations you need. Example, when I go for circuit class while on my period, I'll let the coaches know - "I'm on my 2nd day of cycle so energy is in the ground and everything hurts," and they'll keep an eye out and accomodate for me. As for gym, like everyone else has said, everyone in there is fighting their own anxiety and insecurities. For you, I would say, don't think. Just go. You can do it!

@Sandra MΓΌller Always easier said than done, love. It took me quite some time to be comfortable talking to strangers. And I would be lying if I said I don't feel social anxiety anymore. Walking into a new environment with complete strangers still scares me, I still get shy, I still nervous sweat, I still start shaking like a magnitude 7 earthquake. But a bit of sincerity, humility and an open mind to learn, it will all flow from there. Take your time. As long as you have sincerity and love in your heart, I believe that you will be a-okay. You got this!
Protein anchor (beginner way)
Breakfast: 1. Greek yogurt from my overnight oats - I use 130g of yogurt, or 2. Toast, 3. Soft-boiled eggs x2 Lunch: A bit harder to track but I rotate around these few; 1. Perfect plate - 50% of my plate is meat - chicken, beef, or fish - and avoiding the deep-fried variations. 2. Pizza - Hawaiian or pepperoni, thin crust. 3. Burger 4. Pasta Dinner: 1. Homemade food, perfect plate rule, with slightly reduced portion of rice 2. Soft-boiled eggs x2 Plenty of water throughout the day, and flexibility for any coffee/matcha/snacks. I'm more flexible for the weekends for social meals with family/friends, but always gravitate towards to the high protein options. I'm looking at adding protein shakes as well - slowly making changes πŸ™

Mid-week check in
Monday - circuit - upper body training! 5 x 10sec handstand hold 5 x 10 controlled pushup 2 x 10 burpees What's more scary to y'all? That high-energy, loud coach that's pushing you through the whole workout, vs the really calm, constantly smiling coach? I pick the latter πŸ˜… Tuesday/Wednesday - mobility and a lot of steps DB training cancelled for Tuesday as people get busy to prep for Chinese New Year. In Malaysia, don't expect to reach anyone about work-related things for a whole week - so clear it now or wait until the week after. So that meant, lots of mobility & stretching & steps for me. As my barre teacher likes to say, "slowly and mindfully" go through the movement. I felt a whole inch taller by the time I was done πŸ˜‚ Also, I think my doggo is confused why I keep pacing back and forth in the house. He'd follow me around for a bit then eventually just settle in his usual spot and chill. πŸ˜… Keeping movement consistent this week πŸ™

It's 6AM. You wake up and open the curtains. In front of you is the beautiful blue waters of the Andaman Sea. You wash down a large cup of water with electrolytes. You go to the kitchen and greet your new friends over a coffee. I'm one of those friends ☺️ You put on your walking shoes and go for a 30-minute walk with the gang. You come back to a spread of eggs, turkey bacon, fruit, protein shakes, and more coffee. You're not sure how to track the food, but good thing I'm there to show you exactly how. You go back to your room for some personal time. 11AM hits, and I'm waiting in the gym to show you how to properly train (finally πŸ˜†) We head to the sauna after, and we share our goals and dreams. We do a mobility session together and rest for a few hours. It's 6PM, and dinner is served. Your meal is optimized for your calorie and macro goals + you get a side of bone broth 🀩 We end the night with a short but sweet lesson on how to optimize your sleep. You head to bed, and we do it again tomorrow. So... I actually had the pleasure of taking part in an experience like this last year on the beautiful island of Koh Samui at a luxury called Villa Solana. I became good friends with the honorable guests there, including three Miss Universe Thailand's πŸ˜‰ (how lucky am I) and one of the top Thai female fitness influencers (@befitwithjess). There's really nothing like a 3-day unplugging getaway where your main focus is yourself... but with an awesome support system to top it off. Raise your hand if you'd want to experience this πŸ™‹πŸ½βœ‹
