Can I share something that I wish more women understood before they spent years fighting their body?
The weight gain after 40 isn't usually about a lack of willpower.
And it's not because your body suddenly stopped working.
As we get older, several things begin to change at the same time. Cortisol tends to rise. Insulin sensitivity tends to decline. Sleep often becomes more challenging. Stress has a bigger impact than it did in our 20s.
The problem is that nobody ever teaches us how these pieces fit together.
Most people are told to eat less and exercise more.
But if insulin is elevated, your body has a much harder time accessing stored fat for energy. That's why so many people feel like they're working harder than ever while seeing fewer results.
What I want you to remember is this:
❤️ Your body is not broken.
❤️ Your hormones are not your enemy.
❤️ There is a reason you're experiencing what you're experiencing.
❤️ Understanding what's happening is often the first step toward changing it.
Whether you're currently in FAST40 or just getting started in the Fit Over 40 community, keep learning. The more you understand how stress, sleep, insulin, and hormones work together, the more empowered you'll be to make decisions that actually support your body.
I'd love to hear from you:
