I want to clear something up because I’m seeing a lot of confusion around this…
Juicing does NOT cause candida.
It reveals it.
When you bring in fresh juices, especially fruit-based or higher natural sugar fruits, what you’re actually doing is stimulating the terrain of your body. You’re increasing hydration, minerals, and cellular activity… and that’s when things that were hidden start to come up.
So if you suddenly feel:
- bloating
- brain fog
- fatigue
- skin flare-ups
- coated tongue
- sugar cravings
…it’s not because the juice “created” candida.
👉 It’s because the candida was already there… and now it’s being activated, exposed, and challenged.
🦠 Why Does Candida Overgrowth Happen?
Candida is a fungus. It naturally exists in the body.
But it overgrows when the terrain becomes weak.
This usually happens when:
- the gut lining is damaged
- digestion is weak (low stomach acid, poor enzyme function)
- toxins and heavy metals are high
- the liver is sluggish
- there’s a history of antibiotics, medications, or high sugar intake
- emotional and physical trauma has lowered the body’s state
Candida thrives in low-functioning, toxic environments.
So when we detox… we’re not “creating a problem”
We’re revealing what’s been sitting there.
🍓 Why Fruit & Juice Can Trigger Symptoms
Candida feeds on sugar, yes…
BUT this is where people misunderstand things.
When you bring in fruit:
- You’re not just feeding candida
- You’re mobilizing it
Fruit + juice:
- hydrate the cells
- push detox pathways
- loosen biofilms
- stimulate elimination
So the body starts to pull candida out of hiding
That’s why symptoms flare.
It’s a healing reaction, not a worsening condition.
🔥 What You Can Do If You’re Reacting
If you’re feeling this during juicing or detox, don’t panic. Adjust and support your body:
1. Lower the fruit temporarily
- Focus more on green juices (cucumber, celery, herbs)
- Add lemon, ginger
2. Bring in antifungal herbs
- oregano oil
- pau d’arco
- wormwood
- black walnut
- cloves
- grapefruit seed extract
3. Support your gut lining
- aloe vera
- slippery elm
- marshmallow root
4. Help your body eliminate
- make sure you’re actually going to the bathroom daily
- consider binders (away from herbs)
- support liver + bile flow
5. Slow down if needed
- detox is not a race
- if symptoms are intense, pull back slightly and stabilize
🌿 How Do You Actually Heal Candida?
This is important…
Candida is NOT just about killing fungus.
If you only kill it, it comes back.
You have to:
- rebuild the gut lining
- strengthen digestion
- detox the liver
- remove heavy metals + parasites
- raise the overall state of the body
Candida cannot thrive in a clean, well-functioning system.
⚡️ Advanced Support (Optional)
For those who want deeper physical support, some people explore:
These approaches are used in some integrative spaces to:
- support oxygenation
- reduce microbial load
- assist detoxification
They can be supportive for things like fungal and mold-related burdens, but they’re not the foundation.
The foundation is always:
👉 your internal terrain
🛡️ Prevention Moving Forward
Once you move through this, here’s how you prevent it from coming back:
- keep your gut strong (whole foods, simple digestion)
- avoid constant high processed sugar cycles
- support your liver regularly
- don’t overload your system with toxins
- stay consistent with cleansing cycles
- continue connecting back to your body and what it needs
💬 Final Reminder
If your body is reacting during juicing…
That’s not failure.
That’s information.
It means your body is finally addressing something that’s been there for a long time.
📣 Coming Soon
I’m putting together a full Candida Overgrowth & Healing Course where we go deep into:
- gut restoration
- fungal protocols
- food structure
- detox pathways
- and the energetic root behind why it forms
🗓️ This will be released end of May
