Hi all, I’ve been working on my book title for weeks (maybe months!) and have read a lot about what makes a strong one. I think I’ve landed on a title that ticks most of the boxes — at least it makes sense to me. The challenge is: 1. I’m not sure how it sounds to others. 2. It might be on the long side. I even ran it through the AM Institute’s EMV Headline Analyser, and it scored 43%, which is decent, but I’d like to know how it lands with real people. What’s the best way to properly test a book title? My personal network doesn’t know much about writing books, so I don’t think they’d give me the most useful feedback. Thanks in advance, Alex

All - I have been struggling for a while now re: my latest book's title. I have had several good ones, but nothing great. I asked ChatGPT for assistance giving it my current titles, asking to check to see what book titles already existed close to the titles I picked. I also described who the book is targeted at, and who it is not targeted at. ChatGPT gave me book titles that I then took to Publisher Rocket to check out. Of the titles - 2 of them did not exist, a couple of them are old and have not had sales in a long time, and others had lackluster sales. So I searched PR using key words and key phrases, and the books matched my subject matter maybe 50% of the time, not stellar. Therefore I am now rethinking all of my titles, losing keywords that do not reflex the subject at all. For example a keyword of Frugal - or Frugal marketing did not reflect anything dealing with books. Now I know that I need to rely more off of phrasing, but what is the key phrasing. Have any of you found selecting book titles to be a bit of a challenge?
