Tonight was a good night!
A mate invited me out for a drink and I nearly turned him down. I wasn’t in the mood for crowded bars, loud music or trying to shout over strangers.
We met up anyway. The pub wasn’t much to write home about and our backup venue was shut, so I simply said:
“Let’s head back to mine.”
Three of us ended up on my balcony for a couple of hours.
A whisky.Good music.Good conversation.
As they left, it hit me.
For years I thought life needed more. More people. More excitement. More everything.
Turns out I was wrong.
These days, a handful of good friends is enough.
What struck me most wasn’t the evening itself.
It was how steady I felt.
Just a good evening with good people.
It’s taken me a long time to get here, but tonight I realised:
