As I stepped into 2026 one of my motivations for dressing better was how I present myself to the world. This was important for me personally but I want it to be a lesson for my kids. In the culture of America today we live in a world where people really don't care what they look like, or use a poor excuse if I want to "feel" comfortable. Well I feel comfortable in a properly fit suit and look good, so that just a poor excuse. But what's sad is that most people don't care about the non verbal statements of how they present themselves. No more pride in how they look or what they say to the world.
I've been focusing on proportions and silhouette and the rule of thirds in my dressing. I've also kept an eye out for those classic 90s chunky corduroy pants. Well today was my lucky day. I came across four pairs in brown, charcoal, blue and beige with the relaxed straight leg double pleated. Not to mention a great polo quarter zip and 100% merino wool birdseye sweater. I've also used the RL 3 piece layer system and revealing oxford shirt cuffs with sweaters like a suit coat. I love how these pants feel sitting above the hips and on the waist making proportions easy. What do we think?
