First weekend of counties
This weekend was the first weekend of our three weekend long counties! I had 200 back and went a 2.30.37, which is a half a second pb from a time I set 2 weeks ago!! I then made it into the final and added time on due to fatigue as we have been training through and not tapering as it’s not a key meet, but I’m still proud of myself for keeping going and taking on board improvements and positives that I got from the weekend, with my coach reassuring me that if he’s not worried then I shouldn’t be 😂. I also had lots of fun with my new teammates which added lots of positivity to the day 💕
Swim meet
The competition was on 2 days but I could do only on Sunday because I was a bit sick. My times are: 100free 58,66 dropped 3 seconds 200IM 2:24 dropped 8 seconds 200breast 2:47 dropped 6 seconds I think I was so fast because I managed really good the warm ups and cool down and didn't have race anxiety (or a little bit but did the Michael Phelps breathing technique and the stress went out)
2nd best time ever in LC 50 fly
Today I swam individually in a long course meet for the first time in 8 years. I swam 28,57 (PB 28,16 from 2016) in the 50 fly and 1.05,27 (PB 1.02,97 from 2016) in the 100. My goal was to qualify for Bergen Swim Festival and I missed the cuts by 0,52 seconds in the 50 and 2,97 seconds in the 100. I was unsure whether to attend this meet because of sickness prior, but finally chose to go, even though I still have problems with my sinuses. Glad I went. I will now train and compete at a long course meet in Oslo in the end of March to try to qualify. Too bad I have to travel quite far to compete in long course, because I absolutely love to swim in the big pool!
Competition results
I had a great competition this week with two PBs and one very good time.Also used the michel phelps breathing technique before every race. 50m breast 30.83s PB 100m breast 1.09.7 PB 200m breast 2.38.6 ( first time under 2.40 in 2 years) 200m IM 2.26.5
Counties Dorset
Daisy had her 800 free this weekend. She dropped 36 seconds. Down from 11.57 to 11.21. She’s feeling pumped for her 1500 free this weekend.
