One of the biggest things we’ve learned on this path is this: For many women, presence equals safety. And safety is not a bonus in love or connection. It’s a core biological need of the nervous system. Presence looks like: • Staying when emotions get big • Listening with your whole body, not just your ears • Slowing down enough to feel subtle shifts • Being grounded instead of reactive The highest expression of the masculine isn’t force or dominance. It’s the ability to stay attuned, regulated, and present. You can’t demand presence. But you can create conditions that invite it. Here’s a simple practice we’ve used that supports that state for both partners: Chakra Breathing for Nervous System Safety This is not about doing it “right.” It’s about using breath, touch, and attention to signal safety and care to each other’s nervous systems. How it works: • One partner lies down to receive • The other sits or kneels beside them to give • For each chakra, place one hand under the body and one over • Take 5 slow, synchronized breaths into that area • Move up the body, chakra by chakra • Switch roles when complete Masculine focus: sacral, heart, third eye (2, 4, 6) Feminine focus: root, solar plexus, throat (1, 3, 5) Eyes can stay closed. There’s nothing to fix or achieve. Just presence. This is about learning how to feel safe together again. Question for you What helps you feel the most safe, seen, or present in connection?
