๐Ÿฅฉ Saturday Steak Dinner โ€” Celebration, Awareness & Balance
Saturday we celebrated my partnerโ€™s birthday at Mortonโ€™s Steakhouse โ€” our favorite spot because of our server, Chris.
We donโ€™t go there just for the steak. We go because of him. He treats our family like VIP every single time. Weโ€™ve built such a great relationship that he even gave me his personal cell so I can text him when weโ€™re coming in to make sure heโ€™s there to serve us.
This time when we saw himโ€ฆ WOW.
Chris has lost a significant amount of weight. His face was glowing. I told him,
โ€œWoooooow Chris!! Look at you! You lost so much weight and that skin glow! Whatever youโ€™re doing โ€” keep it up!โ€
He shared heโ€™s being more mindful with food moderation and working on his health.
And I told himโ€ฆ Iโ€™m doing the same.
Now hereโ€™s the real-life part ๐Ÿ˜…
Because itโ€™s fine dining, I didnโ€™t want to make it obvious that I had my food scale. So I put a small dish on top of it to be discreet. Chris laughed and said he didnโ€™t even notice until I told him.
Thatโ€™s balance. Not obsessive. Not hiding. Just aware.
My Food Strategy โฌ‡๏ธ
In the morning, I pre-planned my brunch because I knew dinner would be bigger.
I aimed for 300 breakfast + 300 lunch but ended up having one bigger brunch instead:
Brunch:
724 calories
โ€ข 78.5g protein
โ€ข 54g net carbs
โ€ข 20.8g fat
Then dinner was family-style:
โ€ข Shared bone-in prime ribeye (I logged 5.43 oz)
โ€ข Shared bacon-wrapped sea scallops
โ€ข My own jumbo lump crab cake
โ€ข Arugula salad with Italian cheese + whole grain mustard dressing
โ€ข I ate extra portions of the salad because no one else wanted it
โ€ข Shared asparagus
โ€ข King crab whipped mashed potatoes (moderation)
โ€ข One slice onion bread with whipped butter + apricot chutney (highly recommend that combo)
โ€ข One spoon of lava cake + one spoon of ice cream โ€” I was full and stopped
Dinner:
2,444 calories
โ€ข 95.4g protein
โ€ข 119.8g net carbs
โ€ข 88.9g fat
Total food for the day: 3,168 calories
Was it over my cut calories? Yes.
Was it expected? Yes.
Am I stressed? No.

I want to share the old Lena would have never wore a dress that shows any belly area. The new Lena built confidence to wear it to dinner. What made it more meaningful is both my daughter and partner said โ€Wooowww you look amazing in this dressโ€ both wide eyes ๐Ÿ‘€ open โ˜บ๏ธ. My partner teased me and made a โ€œsizzlingโ€ sound when he touched me ๐Ÿ˜‚
