🌎 Human Kind > Just Being Right
This morning during school drop off, my partner shared something that didn’t sit right with me.
Traffic was already crazy. Everyone rushing. The bus in front of him wasn’t moving. People were getting irritated, honking, visibly upset.
Turns out… a homeless man had dropped his cart in the middle of the street. All his personal belongings spilled out. He looked like he was trembling and probably high.
And the energy from everyone? Anger. Frustration. Impatience.
I get it. We all have places to be. Life is busy. But we don’t know his story. We don’t know what trauma, addiction, mental health struggles, or circumstances led him there.
Maybe he didn’t “make the best choices.”
But maybe he’s also had the hardest life.
I told my partner,
“Give this man some mercy. He’s already having a horrible day. I doubt he wanted this to happen.”
It really bothers me when we forget someone’s humanity over a few minutes of inconvenience.
Fitness has taught me something powerful:
We are all one hard season away from struggle.
We are all fighting something.
And grace costs us nothing.
Let’s choose human kindness over reaction.
Let’s lead with empathy.
Let’s be the calm in the chaos.
Because strength isn’t just how much you can lift.
It’s how much compassion you can carry. 🤍
