There's a lot happening in the online space right now that's genuinely exciting... and can turn someone jelly, real fast. =New and Unique, it tells something that is happening online that is exciting and for me it has a unique style
People growing accounts fast, running multi-million dollar launches, doing numbers that make you go: WOAHHH.=Big, this is talking about multi-million dollar things that are growing
Jessi Jean did a $6 million launch last month after her $1.2M launch in May. It's inspiring. I loved watching it.=Big, still the same thing
And also... if you've been in this game a while, it can mess with your head a little.
Because somewhere in the watching, a sneaky little question shows up: why not me? Why haven't I gone viral? Where's my multi-million dollar launch?=understandable, people are questioning why this thing is not happening to them
I'd love to tell you I'm above that. But I'm not.
I've been in this industry for over ten years and I still catch myself in the comparison spiral.
Especially right now.
I just came back from my second maternity leave — I basically took 6 months off. And in those 6 months, it felt like my whole industry changed with Claude and yaps.
Now I've got two little ones and less time to work than I've ever had in my career.
So yeah, easy to feel behind.
My friend texted me to check in recently, and here's what I sent back, word for word:
"I feel out of the game since being off for 6 months! So business is def chill this summer especially with the kids being so small, off school, and I want to be present for them vs trying to squeeze in work."
And her reply stopped me:
"I'm pretty sure that's the dream! The ability to just have a chill summer and not worry about work and have it all work out and then start dipping your toes back in to find what makes you 'zing' again! Hell yes to that freedom "
I read it three times.
Because she's right.
The thing I was framing as falling behind? A chill summer, present with my kids, a business that keeps running without me white-knuckling it... that's kind of the whole point =Understandable people wants this thing where don’t have to worry about money and not trading time for money
It's the whole reason I built it this way. I just forgot to notice while I was busy comparing my chapter 12 to somebody else's chapter 2.=Understandable, this is true people compare themselves to someone that are starting before them which has better progress not knowing that those people they’ve been there before too
So here's what I'm giving myself permission to do, and maybe you need it too: experiment.=useful, this could work for you too
Dip a toe back in. Chase whatever makes me zing again, with zero pressure for it to be the next big launch.
Which brings me to something fun I want you to play with...
