Mozi Minute: Sell more with fewer salespeople =New, you as a reader would think how does having few sales people sells more
High Leverage = small input, big output.
One of the places a lot of business owners struggle to scale is at the point of conversion, meaning:=Specific, Alex is pointing out where many businesses struggle to scale
- They don't have enough good salespeople.=Specific and useful, this is one of the point Alex is telling and it is useful because this is the reason why businesses struggle to scale
- No one can sell like them.=Useful, business owners could agree to this and it could change their mind instead of having a lot of people that can sell to, having less but performs well.
- Sales calls take too long.=Specific, Alex says this because yeah taking too long to have a call could potentially waste time and that call leads to nowhere
- They need too many of them in order to get someone to buy.=Useful, this message tells that quality over quantity is always better.
- People compare them to their competitors only based on price.=Specific, there are many factors to consider not just price alone so yeah
All of these things are bad.
They typically mean you have low leverage in your sales process.
The easiest way to add leverage to a sales process is to take every single thing: every question that a customer asks about:=Useful and specific, giving advice on how to leverage is a valuable thing and it points directly on what leverage to add which is to take every single thing the customer asks.
- Why they should buy
- Why they should buy from you
- What specifically is going to happen
- What results they should expect
- etc.
Give it to them before you have the conversation.=Useful this is a tip
There are a lot of ways to do this, but I think the biggest one is to simply make them watch a video before they talk to you or talk to one of your sales reps.=Useful and specific, this gives the exact or on point advice on how to do it
This allows you to have a perfect presentation that perfectly pitches and positions your product or company compared to your competitors.
People call this a video sales letter (VSL).
I don't really care what you call it, but at the end of the day, you just need to sell them:
- What's in it for them
- The good that they're going to get
- The bad they're going to avoid
- The proof of why they should listen to you
- Your specific mechanism or way of doing it that's different than everyone else's=Unique, this is your own way so yeah
Then go through every objection that you hear on your sales calls one by one:=Easy,
Alex is telling you step by step so this is easy
Why it's wrong, what's actually right, and give them proof.=Useful and easy, Alex is telling what to say
Finish with lots of fast-hitting proof and case studies at the end of the video=Safe, giving proof builds trust
Just have your salesperson ask if they watched it before they talk to them.=-
If they haven't...
Tell them to watch it in the first 10 to 15 minutes of the conversation and offer to get them a coffee or something while they watch it.=Useful, Alex is telling you a more effective way to convince your salespeople
Position it as:
"Hey, this is going to save us an hour or more if you do it in 15 minutes."=Specific he’s telling you exactly what to say
That way, people are more willing to give some time if it's going to save them more.
I have about 50 more of these things that you can do in any service business that can dramatically enhance your margins and your operational scale without adding headcount or using technology.=Easy, Alex has many of these that are already ready for you
You go over a lot of things like this at our scaling workshop, which if you’re a $1M+ business owner you can go check out here. =Easy, he is relating to his audience and just a click of a button then it’s done
Otherwise, keep scaling,
- Alex

How I manage to build an app without coding skill and starts making 10k a month
Writing/Improving a copy:
How I made it as a copywriter…
I don't remember the last time I shared my story Isaiah...
When I started my career...
I put close to $5000 on my credit card... no income... no job...
I just believed that I would figure it out.
The pressure to pay off my card weighed on me heavily.
I was a couple hundred dollars away from maxing out my card.
And the interest was slowly racking up.
I did 250 cold calls...
Not even one person said yes.
Then I got a commission-only client...
And well, you can only imagine how that went...
"Matthew, I really want to see you succeed. But it's really up to you how much you make here."
Typical.
I still remember being so nervous telling him I was quitting.
Worrying if he'd tell others. Worrying if I was giving up too early. Worrying if he'd label me a quitter (he did).
But a couple of weeks later my life changed forever.
It was a cloudy day in Victoria, Canada.
And I was walking to the mall (couldn't afford the bus anymore lol)...
I was stressed, full of acne, overweight, and looking to the sky hoping someone was watching me.
In that moment, as I looked up, the sun came out from behind a cloud and shone straight on me and the path ahead of me.
And in that moment I felt peace.
The debt pressure washed right off of me.
And I don't know why... I still think it was divine intervention but...
In that moment I just had this thought:
"I'm tired of chasing money. I'm tired of worrying. I'm tired of trying to prove myself. I'm just going to start helping people. And surrender the rest to time."
And this was my turning point.
That week I approached a language business and offered to help them for free as a thank you for creating such a great project.
To my surprise, they took me up on my offer...
I wrote the emails...
And they loved them!
So I suggested them a sales page project.
Which they accepted.
And that was my first $1500 project!!!!!
I still remember getting a physical cheque in the mail.
It reflected in the sunlight. How poetic haha
Then the next month I closed another $1500 project.
The month after that, $3k.
And then the month after that I closed a $4500/mo client who was instrumental to launching my career.
Now here we are.
And look...
I know 5k of debt is not a lot for many people..
But I was a college kid with nothing on my resume... who was used to making minimum wage.
For me I would've had to work at the coffee shop for 500 hours to pay off that debt.
For young Matt, it was terrifying.
But I faced my fears, believed in myself...
And with God by my side, I did what I had to.
And I've never looked back.
So, next time you are afraid... look within...
And if, deep down, you know you have to do it, JUST DO IT.
Take the leap.
Maybe it's applying to that gig you have already disqualified yourself from.
Maybe it's quoting more than you're used to quoting.
Or maybe it's investing in something that you don't really have the money for right now...
Whatever it is... do it.
The key is to believe in yourself.
It's not about the program or anyone else.
I won because I went all in on ME.
And it’s the same for you Isaiah.
Worst case, you'll have an amazing story to tell.
Best case, your life will never be the same again.
Have a great one.

P.S. The truth is…
The 5k I put on my card?
It only taught me a fraction of what I actually needed to know to be successful.
I actually ended up investing about $100k before I know most of what I know today about copywriting.
The reason I succeeded was largely due to the pressure to pay off my credit card.
Yes, I learned a LOT.
But I wish someone had taught me everything I know about copy today without me having to work for years just to afford all of the coaching.
Many copywriters come to me frustrated that they’ve invested thousands of dollars and still know very little.
That’s why I made my program Copy Systems so unbelievably affordable.
I priced it the way I did to:
#1 Bring more people into my world.
#2 Help copywriters who had been burnt in the past to start investing in themselves again.
How I become a copywriter that I am today
I keep telling this story Name because this was me before.
I was a 20 year old guy, drop out from college, no job, no connection, and no idea on what to do for the rest of my life .
Not until I found a video on youtube on how to make money online that doesn’t need a good device or tools to start.
That way of making money is copywriting!
I spend months watching tutorials learning this skill but the problem is nothing really sticks.
Nothing until I found a system that has a better way of learning this skill.
Aside from that, this system only cost me $3 a day. Back then, even $3 felt like a lot of money to me.
But compared to the other courses I saw online that cost $30 or more, it was a much more affordable option.
So I decided to give it a shot. I even borrowed the money to get started because the investment was small, and I knew I could cancel anytime if it wasn't what I was looking for.
To my surprise, it turned out to be exactly what I needed.
For the first time, I found a system that helped me understand copywriting in a way that actually made sense. The knowledge and skills I gained became the foundation of the copywriter I am today.
From that point on, I kept learning, improving, and growing. Looking back, that one decision changed the course of my life.
We all have to start somewhere.
This was my starting point.
I hope it can be yours too.
