Do You Check Your ENERGY Before You Start the Day?
Most of us have a morning routine. 🌄 Coffee. ☕ Shower. 🚿 School lunches. 🥪 Maybe a deep breath and “let’s just get through this.” But do you ever pause and check your ENERGY? Not your to-do list. Not your mood. Your energetic state. Why would you? Because awareness changes everything. When you take even one minute to notice your ENERGY, you create: • Awareness of what you’re actually carrying • A chance to reset triggered states • An opportunity to release what isn’t helpful • A conscious choice about how you begin the day Without that awareness, we unknowingly move forward with yesterday’s stress, old expectations, or quiet anxiety about what the day might bring. I remember when my mornings used to sound like this in my head: What will I encounter today? Who will melt down? Will we survive without high drama? Please let it be a boring day… There were plenty of beautiful moments in our life too - but enough intense days that I began to expect them. And that expectation… was energy. That was what I was contributing first thing in the morning. An awareness moment changed that. I realised I was getting up and unconsciously offering tension, anticipation, and guardedness for my children to connect with. So I began a simple practice: Before the day began, I checked my ENERGY and reset it to centred, loving, and compassionate. Did it always last? No. But now I had a baseline. When I shifted, I was able to notice it - and recalibrate. That small pause became powerful. Because the energy we start the day with becomes the tone we carry forward - and our children connect with that more than our words.
