You aren't "too emotional." Your nervous system is just fried.
Stop trying to be "calm" all the time.
I used to think emotional regulation meant being some kind of robot who never got mad.
I thought if I snapped at my kids or got stressed by an email, I was failing. But that's not how the human body works.
Regulation isn't about staying calm 24/7. It's about how fast you can find your way back to yourself after you've been triggered.
Most people I talk to aren't actually "too emotional." They're just living with a nervous system that's constantly redlining.
When you're overloaded:
- A spilled glass of water feels like a tragedy.
- Your patience is non-existent.
- Everything feels heavy.
You aren't broken. Your system is just under too much pressure.
The next time you feel that heat rising in your chest, don't ask "what's wrong with me?"
Ask: "What does my body need right now?"
That one shift stops the spiral before it starts.
I’m opening up 3 spots this week to work one-on-one with people who want to stop feeling constantly overwhelmed and finally get some breathing room.
If you’re tired of feeling like you're one minor inconvenience away from a meltdown, comment "SYSTEM" below and I'll send you the details.
