Why Do Members Stop Visiting a Skool Community?
I’ve been thinking about the communities we join...and then quietly stop visiting.
Not the ones we dramatically leave.
The ones we simply drift away from.
Maybe we were excited when we joined.
Maybe we introduced ourselves.
Maybe we even participated for a while.
And then, at some point, we stopped opening the community.
No big decision. No complaint.
We just...stopped coming back.
That makes me wonder whether we sometimes look at community retention from the wrong end.
We ask:
How do we get members to come back?
But maybe there's an earlier question:
What happened between “I want to be here” and “I forgot to come back”?
🔬 A little field research today:
Think about the last online community you stopped visiting.
Was there a specific moment when it lost you?
Or did you simply drift away?
And if you drifted...do you know why?
I'm genuinely curious what we discover when we compare experiences.
Maybe we'll find a pattern. 💜🔬
