The latest Challenge in one of my businesses as I learn to pivot!

Reading through the new short-term letting regulations coming into effect in May 2026 here in Ireland, I can feel the shift already happening in my business. With mandatory registration through Fáilte Ireland, annual renewals, and the requirement to display registration numbers on every listing, the landscape is becoming far more regulated and less flexible . While this will bring more transparency and professionalism to the industry, it will also likely reduce the number of available properties and increase compliance pressure on owners and agencies like my own. For my vacation rental agency, this means I can’t continue as before—I need to adjust my sails. I’ll have to pivot towards working with fully compliant, high-quality properties, potentially explore longer-term stays, and position my brand as a trusted, regulation-ready partner for homeowners navigating these changes.
