Most costs don't show up immediately.
The cost of holding back is different.
It accumulates.
In opportunities not pursued.
In boundaries not set.
In questions not asked.
In ideas left unspoken.
In relationships that lasted longer than they should have.
In decisions made by default instead of intention.
And over time, those moments can quietly shape the direction of a life.
Not because you're incapable.
Not because you're weak.
But because hesitation, people pleasing, nervousness, and self-doubt often come with tradeoffs.

Observation is a strength.
Empathy is a strength.
Thoughtfulness is a strength.
Discernment is a strength.
But when those strengths become tangled with fear, over-accommodation, or difficulty advocating for yourself, they don't always work in your favor.
