Stop Writing Business Cards
You've probably heard people say, "A book is the new business card."
Let me lovingly call 🐂💩 on that.
Your book is NOT a business card. And you don't want it to be.
Because we all know what happens to business cards...
They get:
--shoved in a pocket
--buried in a bag
--dumped on a desk
... and eventually tossed in that round file in the corner of the room. 🗑️
A business card says:
"Here's how to contact me."
A business BOOK should say:
"Here's why you should trust me."
"Here's how I solve your problem."
"Here's what's possible for you."
Most books don't convey that. Instead, they ramble. They try to fit 10 lbs. of wisdom in a 5 lb. bucket. And they don't tell their readers what to do with any of it.
That's not a book. That's a 200-page spiel.
If your book isn't guiding the reader toward something—a decision, a shift, a next step—it's functioning exactly like a business card. And you don't want to spend months writing a book just to say, "Hey, I exist."
There's a difference between a book that gets polite compliments… and a book that actually brings in clients. I’m building a Skool community for health & wellness coaches who want to write books that build authority—not just sit on a shelf.
If that sounds like your jam, come hang out:
