My approach to onboarding at the moment is non scripted DMs. People respond much more when you're being casual and personal. So I say somehting directly at them in a casual way. Once I made the introductions, I drop the link to tell them it has everything they need to get situated and that they engage right away.

Is this link welcoming enough for you? The intention is to make people situated but not overwhelmed with information. It opens by saying you don't need to read a manual to be here. But if they have any questions and the patience to read, there is a compilation of posts that answer several questions. And I also say that they can ask me directly at any time.

I just started doing that instead of just directly linking the playground post that has the link to this page. It's an extra step that most people didn't take.
