The other day I asked my community what their undercover names are (we're a squad of sleuths snooping around in our funnels trying to find all the leaks). And while it was largely a fun exercise, there was a deeper motivation behind it.

So do this exercise with us:

Open up your inbox, promo tab, social tab, wherever most of the emails from all your sundry freebie signups come from.

Scan the "from" names. Do you know who they all are?

I sure as hell don't remember who the hell Kitty Blomfield or John Carlton or Tammy Lane are. So I don't open their emails (sorry if you're in this group Kitty, John, and Tammy 🤣). And when my inbox gets too crazy, I just batch find and delete them.

So when I send emails to my list, I follow a system that helps busy, overstimulated people remember exactly who I am and anticipate what I might be about to say. Because NOBODY remembers what the hell they signed up for. And we can't fault them for it.
