Antidotes to Addiction? Challenge Day 4
Someone mentioned in a Skool group that Connection is the Antidote to addiction…
I couldn’t agree more!
Most humans have the capacity for unhealthy addictions to habits, emotions, or substances…
though the specifics may differ from human to human.
Most humans also have the capacity for living healthy, vibrant lives filled with JOY, LoVe, and VITALItY.
Healthy, flexible Connection can transform our lives.
Whether it be Connection with God or Spirituality,
Connection with other humans or acts of service,
Connection with a greater purpose for yourself,
Connection with ideas or knowledge you’re excited to learn,
or simply Connection with your own feelings and day-to-day experience….
Connection HEALS, in my experience,
Have you found this to be true?
What kind of connections have been most healing for you?
What other antidotes to addiction can you think of?
  • Consciously breaking our patterns occasionally is one antidote to addiction that I find to be useful.
We can get stuck in ruts without even always realizing it!
  • Daily movement is really helpful for decreasing cortisol, which can drive addictions…
though it’s possible to become addicted to movement and exercise.
Follow-up question…
How do you determine if any habit you have is Positive or Negative ( and possibly addictive)?
For me, a habit is positive if it leads to joy…and I don’t experience cravings around it OR an insatiable need to keep doing the behavior, at whatever the cost.
