It’s funny when you first hear it.
But it’s also a little uncomfortable because it’s true.
We see the same idea everywhere in storytelling.
In Click, a man fast-forwards through his life chasing success… and realizes he skipped the moments that actually mattered.
In A Good Year, a work-obsessed financier inherits a vineyard in Provence and slowly remembers what life is supposed to feel like.
The theme shows up again and again for a reason.
Work is important.
Ambition is important.
But if everything meaningful in life gets pushed to “later,” one day later arrives and those moments are gone.
