Tonight I tried King’s Precious Iris & Oud, and honestly it surprised me in a good way. The first spray comes off a little smoky and floral, and you can really notice that smooth iris mixed with a warm oud in the background. After it settles down, it turns more woody and slightly leathery, which gives it a rich, classy feel without being too strong or harsh. To me, this smells like something you’d wear in cooler weather or at night when you want to stand out a little. It feels elegant and mature, but still smooth and easy to wear. Ratings (just my opinion): Scent: 9/10 – Deep, smooth, and well blended. Longevity: 8.5/10 – Lasts most of the day for me. Sillage: 8/10 – Noticeable, but not overpowering. Overall, I think it is a really solid fragrance if you like iris and oud together and want something that feels classy and a little different from the usual crowd.

Just a general discussion about the latest craves... Lately I have seen quite a few gimmicks to supposedly rival the perfume world. There are "designer suds", lotions/body butters to mimic popular fragrances. I have both but I didn't buy them because I believed in them but I am impressed on the scents. I bought them because I was actually looking for something else other than the body wash and the lotions, I usually use. My impression is that, although they do smell good the "lasting" portion of them is very weak. The cheap Zest that you can get at the dollar store lasts longer. I also tried the body butter, which is more like a pomade. The one I have smells great and does last for a good while but it leaves a shine and a coating that feels a bit weird. What else can be brought to the table to mimic fragrances? I am curious to read any thoughts or experiences the BoS may have, if any, on these? What say you?🙂
