Soaps, lotions, butter creams...what else?

Just a general discussion about the latest craves...

Lately I have seen quite a few gimmicks to supposedly rival the perfume world. There are "designer suds", lotions/body butters to mimic popular fragrances. I have both but I didn't buy them because I believed in them but I am impressed on the scents. I bought them because I was actually looking for something else other than the body wash and the lotions, I usually use. My impression is that, although they do smell good the "lasting" portion of them is very weak. The cheap Zest that you can get at the dollar store lasts longer. I also tried the body butter, which is more like a pomade. The one I have smells great and does last for a good while but it leaves a shine and a coating that feels a bit weird.

What else can be brought to the table to mimic fragrances?

I am curious to read any thoughts or experiences the BoS may have, if any, on these?
