Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to receive a prerelease sample of Maison Francis Kurkdjian OUD Velvet Mood Extrait de Parfum—the newly released 2026 interpretation of a fragrance MFK originally introduced years ago and later discontinued. I loved the sample. I already own OUD Satin Mood in both the EDP and Extrait, so when I tried Velvet Mood, I knew immediately that it offered something different enough to deserve a place alongside them. I had mentioned that to my sales associate and BOOM!! Their first shipment arrived late last week —just 10 bottles—and before I even knew they had come in, he reached out to tell me that he had put one aside for me. That’s my gratitude part of this WIN. We live in a world where it’s incredibly easy to shop online, chase the lowest price, and have something show up at the door. There’s certainly nothing wrong with that. But there’s something pretty special about having someone who remembers you. Someone who remembers what you liked, knows what you’ve been waiting for, and thinks to put one aside when only a handful arrive. So yes, I’m thrilled to add this one to the collection. But once again, the bigger WIN is the relationship that made it happen. I’m looking forward to putting it through its proper paces this winter.
