SOTD: Lorenzo Pazzaglia Que Cimba 2/12/26
Que Chimba! and yeah… the name fits. This one is loud, fun, tropical, and absolutely not trying to be subtle. It’s a fruit + spice bomb that dries down into a sweet woody-amber base with that dense extrait feel. Notes (official note pyramid) Top: guava, passionfruit, peach, star anise, ginger, cinnamon, clove Heart: sweet tobacco, tonka bean, heliotrope, orchid (Cataleya), damask rose Base: cedarwood, sandalwood, patchouli, vanilla bean, benzoin, amber, ambergris How it smells (on me) Opening: instant tropical fruit blast (guava/passionfruit vibes) with a spicy snap from star anise + ginger/cinnamon/clove. It’s juicy but also has that “spiced cocktail” edge so it doesn’t feel like straight candy. Mid: the fruit stays, but it gets creamier + thicker, and you start getting that sweet tobacco/tonka warmth with a soft floral polish in the background. Drydown: sweet woods + amber + vanilla/benzoin with patchouli giving it some backbone. Still sweet, but more “rich and clingy” than bright. Projection / sillage This projects hard in the beginning — like an actual noticeable trail kind of fragrance. First couple hours it has that “walk by and people smell you” presence, then it calms down into a strong personal bubble but still keeps radiating. If you overspray, it’ll get loud fast. (1–3 sprays is plenty.) Retailers and brand write-ups also frame it as high projection/statement-wear, which matches how it comes off. Longevity Very long-lasting (this line is known for high concentration/extrait style performance, and Que Chimba is sold as an extrait). When I’d wear it Night out, parties, warm evenings, vacation. Not office-safe unless you do one spray and keep it moving. Overall High-energy tropical fruit + spice with a sweet woody-amber landing and serious projection. If you like loud fruity niche scents, this is a good time. If you hate sweet, it’s gonna be too much.
