Today I’m trying Neroli Oranger from Matiere Premiere for the first time. This is also my first experience with one of their Eau de Parfums. I already own a couple of their Extraits, and love them, but wanted to experience the house further so I bought a discovery set First impression? The scent itself is wonderful. Bright, clean, floral, citrusy and very easy to enjoy. It has that fresh, uplifting quality that I really like in the morning, and from a scent-profile standpoint I’m enjoying it quite a bit. But… I’m already questioning the performance. My normal number of sprays gave me almost no real scent bubble, and after about 10 minutes my wife and I could barely find the scent at all! So I did what every self respecting Frag Head would do, I used the rest of the 2ml sample! 😎. While the projection got better it certainly isn't overpowering and Not even remotely approaching “French Whore Territory.” 😜. Which is what I expected! And that may end up being the deciding factor for me. Unfortunately in a situation like this I used the whole sample and won't be able to give it another wear which I usually like to do. 😢 I don’t necessarily need every fragrance I wear to fill a room, but I do like to know it is there. I enjoy catching it around myself during the day. That little scent bubble is part of what makes wearing fragrance enjoyable for me. So today is going to be a bit of an experiment. I already know I like how Neroli Oranger smells. Now I need to find out whether it has enough presence and longevity for the way I personally like to wear fragrance. The Extraits I own from Matiere Premiere have set the bar pretty high, so maybe I’m a little spoiled. 😎 I wonder if this comes in an extrait?🤔 Wonderful first impression on scent. Jury is still out on performance. We’ll see where it is by this afternoon.

I think I have reached my wits end with my samples. I am SO fortunate that my Sales associates that I regularly work with give me samples so freely of so many different houses, plus the few discovery sets I have purchased on my own. Here is my problem, most samples come in the tiny 2ml decants, some come in folder cards, some come in small boxes. I used to keep them by season in different zip lock bags, but that doesn't store well. I have found that I don't reach for my samples because they aren't organized well, not visually easy to find and decide what to try. My bottles and my 10ml decants are all labeled and in a place that makes it easy to test and grab, but these samples are getting harder and harder to manage. I have made it known to my Sales associates, that moving forward whenever possible I want to get 10mls are ideal, but nothing smaller than 5, with clear labeling that doesn't rub off. That will take a while for sure to move through, What are you all doing to keep your samples organized and in a position to know what you have and grab it easily when you're ready for it?
