SOTD- Tuesday August 11th: Afnan Rare Reef

It’s hot, humid, and sticky outside. That calls for a light, refreshing fragrance! I really like Pacific chill, but I just can’t justify the price for that particular fragrance. This is a nice twist on that DNA. Certainly not a one-to-one, but it definitely gets in the ballpark. This is a bit sharper and a tad more zesty than the original, but to performance is actually pretty darn good for freshy. I get about 6 to 7 hours on skin with decent projection for about 3 hours. Sillage is actually really good and lasts about 5 to 6 hours. When I initially picked this up last year, I didn’t like it. It was way too sharp and synthetic off the top. However, after letting it sit for several weeks, I came back to it, and it was much more smooth and enjoyable. Definitely gets the job done!

SOTE - New Bottles Herodian Magic

I am a jerk, someone sent me this gem and I don't recall who. If it was you, thank you! A bottle of New Bottles will be ordered soon. Inspired by PdM Herod. Black cherry, tobacco, some warm spices like cinnamon to back it up. There is something in the background that adds a bit of bright contrast, labdanum and something else. I haven't had the OG Herod, but this stuff is great in its own.
