Yesterday, I discussed Cremo Vintage Suede, an excellent alternative (in price). Today, I'm using the same criteria in my review of this wonderful Tom Ford fragrance.
- Profile: This fragrance has a bold leather scent with spicy cardamom and saffron opening into floral jasmine sambac and violet heart, drying to a smoky suede base of amber, patchouli, oakmoss, and vetiver.
- Sillage starts strong with a noticeable projection for the first 1-2 hours, filling a room with its smoky trail, before settling into a more intimate arms-length aura that lingers subtly, ideal for office or date settings but less bombastic for crowd-dominating events.
- Longevity, often lasting 8-12 hours on skin and even up to 24 hours on clothes, with the Parfum version edging out the EDP for slightly better endurance—making it a reliable choice for all-day wear without frequent reapplication.
- Price: At a current price point of around $170-240 for the 3.4 oz EDP (with the Parfum version at $200-285). Ombré Leather commands a luxury premium that reflects Tom Ford's high-end craftsmanship. Still, its exceptional performance justifies the investment for fragrance enthusiasts seeking a timeless leather staple—offering better value than many fleeting designer scents.
