Great fragrance. Hawas has a wonderful line of fragrances that, IMO, should be in everyone's collection. Great product at a great price point. Thanks for sharing.

This is one of the most iconic scents from the Maison Margiela REPLICA collection. It is designed to evoke a specific memory: Chamonix, France, 1971, sitting by a crackling fire in a winter cabin. Released back in 2015 from the nose of Marie Salamagne, it's a Woody/Ambery fragrance. The scent is famous for its realistic smoky opening that transitions into a sweet, comforting gourmand. Upon the first spray, you get a sharp, realistic blast of burning wood and spices, notes include clove & pink pepper, which are balanced out with orange blossom. At the heart, a beautiful Chestnut Accord, Gaïac Wood & Cade Oil. It literally smells like a campfire or a stone fireplace. As it settles, the smokiness mellows out, allowing the roasted chestnut & vanilla to merge. The dry-down is warm, creamy, and slightly sweet., with a blend of Vanilla Accord, Peru Balsam & Cashmeran. A solid seven hrs with this one, and a word of caution. This is powerful juice so spray accordingly. People will definitely notice the smoky-sweet trail you leave behind, but it isn’t suffocating. Best used in cold weather were it can shine brightly If you enjoy cozy vibes and don't mind a literal smoky aroma, this is a masterpiece of atmospheric perfumery. My Rating 9/10 Scent 3 Longevity 2.5 Sillage 2.5 Y/N 1

Talk, talk, talk-talk-talk! (re-up'd)
Hey guys, Joe A. here with another one for ya’! Lemme ask y’all something… is “FragTalk” helping the hobby, or is it slowly turning the whole thing into a loud, overhyped circus where everybody’s chasing the same five buzzwords? Beast mode. Compliment puller. Nuclear. Panty dropper. Blind buy worthy. Somewhere along the way, parts of this hobby started feeling less like appreciation and more like a fantasy football draft for fragrance addicts. So today, I’m throwin’ out a few hard truths that might ruffle a few atomizers! First up, the beast mode obsession is absolutely costing people money. Brands know good and well that if they slap “Extrait” or “Elixir” on a bottle, crank up the loud woods, musks and ambroxan, folks will line up like it’s the second coming of scent. And sure, performance matters… but since when did subtlety become a crime? Not every fragrance needs to last 19 hours, kick down the door and announce itself like a pro wrestler entering WrestleMania. Sometimes the beauty is in the nuance, not in choking out your coworkers by lunch! Then there’s the paper strip nonsense. Some folks smell the opening for thirty seconds at the mall and walk out with a full bottle like they just found their signature scent. Nah, brother, that’s not the fragrance, that’s the handshake. The drydown is the real conversation. If it hasn’t sat on your skin for a few hours, gone through the heat, settled into the base and shown you what it’s really about, then all you bought was the best behavior version of that scent. That’s fragrance speed dating, not a relationship!! And while we’re here, let’s be honest about something else: buying is not the hobby. Learning, smelling, comparing, wearing, experiencing and understanding fragrance… that’s the hobby. Constantly hitting “add to cart” every time TikTok starts foaming at the mouth over a new release? That’s just shopping with a fancy excuse. If you’ve got enough juice on your shelf to outlive your mortgage (guilty!!), it might be time to ask whether you love fragrance… or just love the rush of the next package hitting the porch!

Renato, You hit the nail so perfectly on the head that I’m surprised you haven’t been banned from FragTalk for dropping such massive truth bombs. It's incredibly refreshing to hear someone admit that we don't always need to smell like a walking chemical spill just to feel like we got our money's worth. Your take on mistaking a raging "add to cart" addiction for actual fragrance appreciation is hilariously accurate, especially since some of our shelves could probably outlast a nuclear winter. This was an absolutely stellar breakdown of the current scene, proving once and for all that a thoughtful analysis will always outlast a fleeting, overhyped top note!

Last one from the discovery set I recently purchased. The opening has a strong cardamom edge to it, so if spice is your thing, this might be one for you! There is also something in there that I've not come across before, which again is very spicy nature, and ever so slightly sour - I am guessing this might be the pimento mentioned in the note breakdown? As it settles, (roughly 10-20mins in), then the softer leather notes and lavender start to come to the surface. Overall, it conveys assurance and a degree of complexity - I can see this working as an evening/night time wear, more so than a day time option. I'm still not 100% sure I'm sold on that slightly sour note, but its certainly distinctive! This profile is a notable contrast to the headline 9pm and 9pm Rebel fragrances I've tried in the past - this one very much stands out as a more overtly masculine scent. The performance seems to be fairly solid rather than spectacular, with decent projection and longevity.
