Metal Rain from Banana Republic opens exceptionally tart, in fact the overall profile is that of something syntheticly sour, like the fizz of a Warheads sour candy, or the powder of a Sour Patch Kids. Supposedly Lemon and Black Current are responsible for this, but it smells nothing like either of those. Probably because of the basil and Violet leaf. Come to think of it, it does have a similar tartness to Nuit D'issey Bois Arctic which features a citrus and basil combination as well. Imagine the taste of sour cherry juice with no sugar added minus the cherry flavornoids. As it dries down, it becomes slightly more subtle but fairly linier. It's compared to a few Creed Fragrances like SMW, Himalaya, and MI but I don't see it. At the moment it kind of reminds me of one of the Michael Malul Fragrances; at least the tart aspect. Is it worth the 20.00? Hopefully I'll find out today, going to ask the ladies to give me some score today.
