SOTD: Issey Miyake Nuit d’Issey Parfum

Good morning gents!

Latest decant to go, Issey Miyake Nuit d’Issey Parfum.

Grapefruit and pink pepper on the opening, leather and vanilla in the heart and tonka bean absolute and patchouli at the base. Sounded like a complete winner in my book! Unfortunately, I understand the Parfum flanker is discontinued.

Learned about this gem here in the BoS, and got so hooked with the recommendations and note breakdown, I had to order a decant. I don't usually order decants of Discontinued fragrances, because don't want to be found in the spot where I love a fragrance, but can't get it anymore.

This one... blew my mind. It's positively delicious. The opening feels rather fresh for the warm fragrance it is, I assume due to the grapefruit, which however I don't pick up on very prominently. The opening or something to ressemble it, lasts about 30 minutes on me, at time where I'd consider the transition to the heart notes to complete, the vanilla and leather clearly complementing the freshness of the pepper and grapefruit. Those two notes linger there, not allowing the fragrance to get overly heavy.

At about 1.5-2 hours, fragrance settles into a delicious tonka and somewhat earthy patchoulli, accompanying what remains of the rest of the notes, primarily vanillia and leather.

Performance is rather good on me, lasting about 6 hours, at which I would consider it a still clear skin scent.

Conclusion:

Do I like it? Love it.

Did I enjoy the decant? Totally!

Full bottle worthy, for me? 100%. I was about to order a bottle from Jomashop I believe at about 2nd of September, when decided to go for #NoBuySeptember. Held off until yesterday, where Perfumebox had some 125ml testers at a considerably lower price Win! On its way now.
