Salt Lake City shops
Lately I've been spending most of my time working on a house or outdoors. Right now I'm sitting in a park in Morgan Utah, waiting for two people to finish a marathon. I've spent the last two weeks traveling and hiking. I finished all Mighty Five national parks last week and took a day to explore SLC. I found the only niche store in the entire state downtown, Solvi.
What a fantastic little shop. Maya started the place out of frustration and curated a collection of her favorite brands. I tried almost all of them and we had a nice conversation about her favorite hidden gems and underappreciated brands. I left with a sample set of her favorites, but the highlight of the visit was finally getting Birntostandout Black Guava extrait on my skin. I'm still wearing and I'm very impressed with the brand.
Well, right outside her shop was a place called Scents of Wood. It couldn't be? It was called a wood candle shop on the outside. Walking inside, I realized I had just stumbled into the HQ of the niche brand, with literally all their fragrances lined up in front of me. What a happy experience. I tried many, loved them all, and left with a phial of Hinoki in Hinoki. I tried too many things to list right now but I'll post some impressions and reviews at some point.
