Premiering Lalique: Ombre Noire
I’ve been waiting for a long time to find the right price to pull the trigger and blind buy this one and I finally found it, no regrets. This is a niche like very complex, rich, deep and exotic scent. Launched in 2017 as a Middle Eastern-exclusive, but already considered discontinued.
The opening hits with a plethora of the nuances, but beautifully combined. I get the freshness from the mint and bergamot, the earthy and smokiness from the tobacco and papyrus, the boozy, resinous, spice, aromatic-sweetness from the cognac, myrrh, and olibanum. Sounds like too much, but the aroma is undeniably stunning.
As it dries down you still sense all of these but the tobacco tones down giving space to the cedar to shine for a consolation of an aromatic, sweet, resinous, spicy and woodsy scent. It’s a powerhouse, projection and longevity are out of the question and more suitable for colder climates. I’m so happy of being able to add it to my collection.
Here is where I got it:
