Opus 1144 // Filippo Sorcinelli
Thanks to our brother I've been gifted this sample as well as a few others and the opportunity to get my nose on something of a polarizing and unique fragrance. A little literature from fragrantica breaking down this scent which is much more articulate than I would do, and after an interesting peek into the gothic old stone church style buildings its inspiration comes from (which can also be read on fragrantica) I get a good sense of the intent this frag was crafted with. I get a super powdery and somewhat harsh opening. I actually sneezed and coming from the guy who applies 10-20 sprays of a frag to get the day started that’s says a lot 😂. Instantly my wife hated it then left the house 😆. It’s hard to put a finger on what I would say it smells like in terms of comparison to another frag. Personally I don’t hate it. However i am trying to wrap my nose around it fully. Spoiler alert* With frags I’m very hard to displease😉. There is something alluring here I just haven’t found it yet. As it dries down it gets a little spicy and more well rounded really scaling back on that harshness. I’m really searching for that vanilla 😅. There’s an incense vibe happening as well that keeps me coming back for more sniffs. Definitely a cool weather scent and definitely something of a situational fragrance. Church, funeral, etc.. that’s just me🙄. Anyway I’ll keep sniffing away here until something jumps out at me. What I can say is that this juice is stronggg so spray with caution. Finally, at these prices I couldn’t see myself buying a bottle of this. Anyone else have any exp w/this scent? Smell great out there.
