Match #28 in the second-chance bracket turned out to be a fairly easy decision. It paired Givenchy Gentleman Original against Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc (White), with the loser leaving the tournament.

Givenchy Gentleman Original (1974, created by Paul Léger) is a timeless classic built around patchouli, leather, cinnamon, vetiver, and oakmoss. It has a mature, confident style that still feels relevant today, with plenty of depth and character.

Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc (White) (2011, created by Olivier Pescheux) goes in a much fresher direction. Grapefruit, rosemary, tuberose, cedar, and suede create a clean citrus-and-woods fragrance that's very pleasant, especially in warm weather.

I do love a good citrus fragrance, and Lacoste definitely scratches that itch. Unfortunately, the performance just isn't there on my skin, and it disappears much sooner than I'd like.

Givenchy Gentleman Original is simply the classier, more mature, and more sophisticated fragrance. It wins this matchup comfortably and advances to the next round, while Lacoste L.12.12 Blanc is eliminated from the tournament.
